Memory Keeping Monday ... Digital Project Life Weeks 45 & 46

Hello. We are covered in snow this Monday morning. It snowed for over 24 hours this weekend and dumped at least 10 inches on us. Our first big snow storm of the winter season. It was really cold too, but we braved the icy temps to play outside for a little while.

I of course had my camera and was busy taking pictures while the kids and dogs played. They still love playing in the snow. Love that!

Digital pages with templates

Happy Friday! I am so glad it is Friday. It seems like this was the longest week. The recent ending of Daylight Savings, with the darker & shorter days is starting to take its toll on me. I'm no adjusting easily. My least favorite part of the week days has been simply getting out of bed, It's cold and dark, and I find myself hitting snooze more than usual. Not good when you have two kids to wake up and get off to school on time. We are really looking forward to Thanksgiving recess.

My big project this week has been trying to get organized with my Gallery Wall. I took it down over two years ago, to have our home painted ... and well, it never went back up. I wanted to switch out some photos and relocate it ... and so it kind of went on the back burner of my To Do List.

Memory Keeping Monday ...

Happy Veterans Day ... the kids are off from school and we are home taking it easy after a big, busy weekend of organizing and cleaning. There are so many charities and clothing drives this month ... we are taking the opportunity to really go through things in the basement, the garage, the storage area and our cluttered closets ... to reduce and recycle by way of donations. A great feeling all around, but tiring too. Today is going to be all about little projects and taking it easy.

Friday Layouts

So glad it's Friday. The kids have Monday off from school ... so it's a 3 day weekend for us! Woo - Hoo. Really hoping to spend a decent amount of time outdoors ... the leaves are starting to glow with the colors of autumn and the Hudson Valley is looking gorgeous. I want to enjoy it before it is gone.

The photos, in the layouts below, were taken at the end of September at a local Apple Orchard. We still have way too many apples left to warrant a trip back there, but I'd love to get out and go for a hike or day trip somewhere scenic.

This layout expresses my love-hate relationship with Fall. The mum photo is from our weekend's day trip to the Apple Orchard. This layout came together quickly using Crystal's template and just one kit, Wonderfall, by Creashens.

All three layouts were done is short amount of time ... that is the beauty of using well designed templates. Love that! 

And I have just one more layout to share today. These photos were taken in poor lighting with my iphone while my (too old to be riding tricycles) kids were goofing off in the department store & zooming up and down the aisles. But the memory was too good to not use the photos just bc they weren't perfect, so I scrapped them anyway. I used an adorable kit by Dani Mogstad to liven up the page and really accent the colors in the Instagram photos.

Memory Keeping Monday

Good morning. Feeling a little slow this Monday as I try to get back into the swing of things. We had such a great weekend with the Grandparents ... good food, crew practice, a soccer game, some shopping, the Appalachian Trail, a gem & fossil show (for the boy's Science class), movie night, and a day trip to our favorite Apple Orchard across the Hudson river. Love weekends like that!

Still need to download all my photos ... I'm sure many will make their way into a scrapbook page very soon.

Memory Keeping Monday with Project Life's Heritage Kit

Today, Digital Project Life has the new Heritage Edition on sale in the shop. It is elegant, with a neutral color scheme and simply beautiful ... it is a kit that will absolutely let your photos take center stage, whether true heritage photos, black and whites or even modern color photographs.

I choose to document some of my photos from our August extended family vacation. The island we visited was nothing short of amazing and the history associated with the island was fascinating. I converted most of my photographs to black and white for a timeless look and then added in just a few color photos to give the sense of the beauty of the island (something I did not want to forget when looking back). I am in love with the way this kit complemented my photos without taking away from the beauty of the images.
