Memory Keeping Monday ... Hello January 2014

Happy New Year. It's exciting to be starting a fresh new year.

But, Wow. This morning was tough.

Just dropped the kids off at the bus stop. It has been two full weeks since they last attended school. They were scheduled to go back to school on Thursday, Jan 3rd ... but the winter storm closed school for an additional 2 days. So after such a long break, this morning was really tough ... waking up in the dark, trying to get back into our routine.

The girl said, weary-eyed, over her bowl of cereal, "I hope they don't expect too much today".

And that's pretty much how I feel. But I do have a full day ahead of me, lots going on, appointment, errands, orders to complete; and a meeting tonight at 7pm. It will be a long Monday for sure.

I did some Memory Keeping over the last few days ... here's what I have to share. My PL is almost done for 2013.

Memory Keeping Monday ... Digital Project Life Weeks 45 & 46

Hello. We are covered in snow this Monday morning. It snowed for over 24 hours this weekend and dumped at least 10 inches on us. Our first big snow storm of the winter season. It was really cold too, but we braved the icy temps to play outside for a little while.

I of course had my camera and was busy taking pictures while the kids and dogs played. They still love playing in the snow. Love that!

Catching up on Project Life pages with DigitalProjectLife.com's new Squared Away Templates. Here's my Week 45 page with Template 8.

Friday Layout

Popping in to share one little scrapbook page this Friday ... using Crystal Livesay's newest release: Listmaker ... a collab with Jimbo Jambo Designs ... and it includes 6 awesome templates. One, which specifically encourages you to scrap a page without a photo! Love that!

I choose this one, with the circles because I thought it would show case my little photos of a recent trip to the farm market for apples and pumpkins. Check out the collection of templates, available at Pixels & Co, while they are on sale!

Memory Keeping Monday ... newest Digital Project Life Theme Packs

I was at Hobby Lobby this past week, getting some Project Life journaling pens ... when I saw rows and rows of adorable theme packs hanging from the shelves. So fun to see the actual product, since I create with the digital versions. Many of the themes were already sold out! Wish I had my phone to snap a photo, but it was MIA that afternoon. (I found it a few hours later under the back seat of my car???)

UPDATE: had a question about how I "digitally" divided the large focal photo (in the LO below).
This blog post has the tutorial.

Well in Digital Project Life land ... there are lots of new theme packs on sale & ready for hoarding!

I used these kits this week:

little details:
Creashens | Hello Flairs, Fling Elements (floral bouquet) & Krafternoon Delight Elements (bow)
The Ardent Sparrow | Brand New Boy & Girl Kits (buttons)

little details:
Echo Park | Melody (music notes)

Memory Keeping Monday

Good morning. Feeling a little slow this Monday as I try to get back into the swing of things. We had such a great weekend with the Grandparents ... good food, crew practice, a soccer game, some shopping, the Appalachian Trail, a gem & fossil show (for the boy's Science class), movie night, and a day trip to our favorite Apple Orchard across the Hudson river. Love weekends like that!

Still need to download all my photos ... I'm sure many will make their way into a scrapbook page very soon.

For now ... I have a few Project Life Layouts with the newest releases from Digital Project Life ... the themed mini kits. There are so, so many mini themed kits releasing today ... that it would be easier to just link you up with the website so you can see all the awesomeness for yourself!

These are the three kits I couldn't wait to get my hands on:

Little Details | Ali Edwards: Game Time Brushes, Dani Mogstad: Play Ball Kit, Anna Aspnes: LoopDaLoop & Personal Best Word Transfers Patti Knox: Little Enamel Sports Balls

Little Details | Laurie Ann HGD: Baked with Love

That's all I have for today. But seriously, go check out all the Theme Packs while they are on sale! Happy Shopping!!!

Memory Keeping Monday with Project Life's Heritage Kit

Today, Digital Project Life has the new Heritage Edition on sale in the shop. It is elegant, with a neutral color scheme and simply beautiful ... it is a kit that will absolutely let your photos take center stage, whether true heritage photos, black and whites or even modern color photographs.

I choose to document some of my photos from our August extended family vacation. The island we visited was nothing short of amazing and the history associated with the island was fascinating. I converted most of my photographs to black and white for a timeless look and then added in just a few color photos to give the sense of the beauty of the island (something I did not want to forget when looking back). I am in love with the way this kit complemented my photos without taking away from the beauty of the images.

Here's the double spread:

available at digitalprojectlife.com
other little details:
Crystal Wilkerson: stitches, Katie Pertiet: In Stitches Wings No 1, Patti Knox: Pin it Pearls, Ali Edwards: Love You Circle Overlays

The girls on the Digital Project Life Creative Team have lots of amazing inspiration as well. Go check it out and while you are there pick up the kit while it's on sale!

Friday Layouts

What a week. The first week of school for the kiddos is coming to an end, we are settling into the routine and looking ahead with some new experiences on the horizon ... the after school hours will sure be busy this year! Still trying to figure out how exactly we fit in a few weekly runs, with the kids, into the schedule with school, homework, and after school activities. Hopefully it all works out.

Today I have two pages to share with you. The Ardent Sparrow released a set of templates at the Lily Pad on Wednesday. These layouts are perfect for a clean layout, but can also be used to create a really layered & clustered look as well. So versatile.

I also have this page to share, made with Legacy, a gorgeous collaboration that is on sale now at The Lily Pad.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Memory Keeping Monday ...

Here in the US, it is Labor Day, which usually marks an end of the summer and a return to school in NY. But this year the kids have a weird back to school schedule and will be home for another week. Today it is thundering, lightening and pouring rain ... my pooches are gathered at my feet, one on each side, waiting for the storm to pass. Since we are just getting back from vacation ... we opted for a quiet weekend at home, aside from Saturday's soccer tournament. It would be nice to go out for a run or a hike, together as a family, but the skies look angry today. I think it will be more of a family movie kinda day, than an outdoor adventure kinda day. And honestly ... that's ok by me!

I have a few layouts with photos of our vacation to share today ... I just joined The Ardent Sparrow's Creative Team. Seriously love Rebecca's beautiful designs! This first kit is so soft with pretty melons and greys ... perfect for that sunset view from the boat photo from our vacation!

This is a layout with Beach Party from Designs by Dani at Jessica Sprague. Such a fun kit perfect for any water themed photos. These were photos taken from the boat while cruising around Lake Ontario.

available at jessciasprague.com

And this page uses Dani's Imagination Kit with a photo of my little girl playing dressup, ten years ago. This kit is the featured kit for September and is just $1.99 this month!

So many soccer photos ... here's a page highlighting some of my favorite shots from last year using Dani's Play Ball Kit.

Memory Keeping Monday ... a little late!

Happy Monday evening! Today I spent the day with the kids getting organized for school. School ... not a word they are happy to hear. While so many of you are already sharing "first day of school pictures" on social media, we are still enjoying 2 more weeks of summer vacation & freedom from the back to school routine.

But today it was time to do a little preparation for the big day in September. It will be here before we know it, like it or not!

We have an old armoire that we use as command central for school supplies and project related storage. It had not been cleaned or organized in at least 9 months! So we tackled it today and found more pencils and loose leaf paper than Staples. OK, maybe not that much paper, but still, there was so much, I had to devote a whole shelf just to loose leaf.

This made it easy to see what was needed and what was not. Then we set out to buy the remainder of the items on the school supply list. I'm happy to report, one store ... and we are done. Except for the 18 boxes of tissues that my two kids need to bring in. No comment.

After our school supply shopping & organizing of the armoire, I treated to the kids to ice cream cones  ... all was good, and the big bad word ... school ... was soon forgotten again. Happy to report, we are back in summer vacation mode for two more weeks.

Speaking of summer vacation ... check out this Digital Project Life layout from our island vacation last week:

Man, I miss that island already! And I have this layout of my Dad enjoying one of his favorite things to do on the island, fishing! This is using a freebie template created by KerriAnne Phelps, a CT with Designs by Dani. You can grab the template here!

Guesting with Designs by Dani

Hey There! Many of you know that I worked on the Jessica Sprague CT for almost three years. Well, while there, I fell in love with a designer who's kits, for me, are just so perfect and so complete. Dani Mogstad, of Designs by Dani, creates lovely mixes of papers and elements and her kits have just about everything you could need to complete an adorable page ... journal cards, cute paper bits, frames, and realistic baubles like ribbons and buttons.

I'm happy to be joining her CT as a guest for a few months! Here's my first page for Dani, with today's release Hello World & the coordinating Woodie Alpha Kit. Tell me this kit isn't perfect to scrap all those travel and "going places" photos that you have acquired over the summer.

Memory Keeping Monday

August 7th: Oops. Revision. The Template S was not the correct design. I've taken down the previously posted layout and image and replaced with the correct images. Sorry folks!

Two more Project Life pages to share with you this August Monday (can not believe how fast this summer is going!) ...

Digital Project Life has more new templates on sale this week:

What a great, easy way to quickly incorporate a dozen or so photos onto one page.

I whipped up these pages on Thursday afternoon, while packing and getting ready for a long weekend at the Jersey shore.
