Carefree Lazy Days ... and the photos to prove it! Vol. 5

It's Thursday again. It is just me or are the weeks going by faster and faster now that we are in the final stretch of summer vacation? Wish I had a pause button. Anyway, since it is Thursday again, here we go with another Carefree Lazy Days of Summer. Cute (Faux)laroid frames by Nisa of Splendid Fiins ... get them here!

My girl has serious food cravings. She loves creamy pasta dishes and sushi. This week she was in heaven enjoying both! Except she had to eat sushi with a fork. :) Her chopsticks (yes, she has her very own) were in the dishwasher that afternoon.

We enjoyed a drive-in movie! So fun. My parents used to take my brothers and I as kids in the summer. Fond memories of sleeping bags in the back of our ugly green station wagon. Good Times! Glad to share the experience with my kids!

We spent time with my mom. Visited a local pet shop and looked at all the pretty fishies.
The kids played outside and in the pool some more. It's been so hot! To change things up a bit they made a pool shower and enjoyed pouring a a big bucket of water on each other's head.
(The things they do for fun. :{ )

After another Free Movie Morning at the theater we decided to skip lunch and go right for dessert. Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Sundaes at Friendly's. Another favorite thing of mine when I was a kid. (Besides, the regular Friendly's food is kind of gross!)

And the kids worked together (always a risk with siblings) to give our little shih ztu a bath. They actually cooperated and did a super job together.

Here's the little pooch.

That's it for now.

Carefree Lazy Days ... and the Photo to Prove it! Vol.4

Oops, I missed posting Carefree Lazy Days of Summer yesterday... so let me just get on with it.

The week pictured here was very low-key, lazy and carefree. We spent one, not so sunny day, on all things crafty ... the highlight was finally getting around to using these cool Soap Making Lab Kits that we purchased on our Spring Break vacation to Mystic CT.

E's was a glittery, scented, pretty soap making kit. And K's was a practical joke soap kit ... with brains and eyeballs and all things gross.

The kids had fun running through the trails behind out house (way cool trials that Dad made for them ... that wind all through the woods and lead to secret hide-outs) and catching butterflies and moths. They caught about five that afternoon! Of course we let them go a few hours later.
We had lots of dinners outdoors and played games with Dad.

We chased down the Ice Cream Truck for Icees.

And of course spent time in the pool.

I taught E about Raft Races. Now everyone that swims is subject to at least one race with her.
Relaxing, lazy and carefree!

Summer Shots

Hard to believe it is August already. What a summer. It's been hot and sunny most of the time. No complaints here. The kids each have one more week of camp (hockey and soccer) to look forward to. And in 5 short weeks ... they will be back for another school year.

Here's a layout with photos taken on the very first day of summer vacation. She's just a little happy, don't you think!?

Carefree Lazy Days ... and the photos to prove it! Vol. 3

I have another set of lazy summer photos to share. The week shown here was filled with more boardwalk, crabbing and the aquarium. (When you live on the east coast, it wouldn't be summer without those things, right?) It was filled with mornings sleeping in (and the kids' making their own breakfasts, oh yeah!), late game nights with yummy desserts, pool time with friends and finding bugs.

A lazy, carefree summer week to remember alright!

Oh yeah, and the awesome cute (Faux)laroid frames are by Nisa of {Splendid Fiins}. Get them here.
