Early Bird Sale

It's been a long while since I had a Sale! So... I thought it would be fun to have an Early Bird Sale before the busy Thanksgiving shopping weekend. Starting now - through the weekend - make a dent in your Holiday Gift Giving with 25% off all regular priced items. Any item marked Sale is not inlcuded in the 25% off because it is already marked down. And if that's not enough to entice you ... throughout the weekend, I will be randomly marking down items as much as 50% off! These will be items listed in my shop and will come and go as the weekend progresses. These items (while marked down as Sale will not get an additional 25% because they will already be marked down super low!) So check my shop often this weekend ... and feel free to checkout as many times as you like and simply hold off on the paypal authorization until you've had a chance to purchase everything you would like throughout the weekend! Once you have everything all set, just contact me and let me know you are ready for a revised invoice. This will save you on shipping!
How it will work:
I will refund you the discount via paypal's refund system. Again, if you want to make multiple purchases throughout the weekend - hold off on the paypal authorization and just complete the checkout, you can then send me a note when you are completely finished with all of your shopping. I will then send you a revised invoice with the 25% off.
You can start shopping now! :)

Here are some new items in the shop:

Cute Sandwich Wrappers

So yesterday, I talked about lunches and eco-friendly sandwich wrappers. I wanted to share a few favorite shops on Etsy that make these good for the planet items.

This first one is made of linen, nice! And is the baggie style. This one is pretty enough for adults. Made by countrylifenaturals on Etsy. Check out her shop for lunch gift sets. They would be awesome for teacher gifts!

These are adorable for the kids' lunches. Made by Little Green Pea. Check out all the pretty fabrics she offers! Cute for stocking stuffers. Have your kids count how many plastic bags they've saved by using these sandwich bags!

Evelyn Fields makes really sweet baggies as well. Here is a set complete with two different sized baggies (one for your sandwich & one for your snack) and an unpaper napkin. She also has a DIY pattern in her shop for those of you feeling a little crafty.

A fun sock monkey sandwich wrapper. This style opens up to lie completely flat and makes a nice surface for your child to eat his/her sandwich from. Lots of fun styles and fabrics in Cotton Top Quilts' shop. Makes eating lunch fun.

Good Things for School Lunches

One of my goals for the school year was to get my kids off sugary peanut butters and jellies. Done right, the classic PB&J sandwich can be a totally healthy lunch packed with good fiber, grains and much needed protein. Doing it right means choosing a natural peanut butter that contains only peanuts (ok...a little salt too) and picking a jelly or jam with no added sugars or artificial sweetners. Such fruit spreads are really sweet enough as is. Put those two ingredients together between slices of whole grain bread made with all natural ingredients and your kids have a healthy little sandwich. My kids actually like the natural peanut butter better and proud that they are choosing a healthier lunch. We stress variety in our weekly meals, so PB& Js are only allowed once or twice a week. I save them for the days I run out of deli meat!

We also use lunch wrappers that can be cleaned and reused each day, rather than wasting plastic baggies that end up in the garbage dumps.

You have to admit these little wraps are so much cuter than ziplocs! Yay for Good Things!
