Memory Keeping Monday

It's Monday again, and that means new Digital Project Life releases this morning! Oh my gosh there is just so much newness in the shop ... The Sunshine Edition for one. And if that is not enough, there is a whole big release of Seasons & Holidays Theme Packs.

I worked with three of the theme packs this past week.

Layouts with Templates

Today I have a bunch of layouts to share using some fabulous templates by Crystal Livesay. She's a designer over at Pixels & Co and her templates are really fun to work with.

This first page is filled with all the colors & paterns I am loving right now ... soft pinks & greens with pops of color and a bit of black ... and for the patterns ... watercolor, dots, chevrons and florals. So pretty.

The next layout is from our extended family summer vacation spent on Lake Ontario ... it's a picture of my daughter, nephew and SIL enjoying our day out on the boat. It's amazing how being out on the water can erase all your stress and worries ... could use a little of that right now.

This layout expresses my love-hate relationship with Fall. The mum photo is from our weekend's day trip to the Apple Orchard. This layout came together quickly using Crystal's template and just one kit, Wonderfall, by Creashens.

All three layouts were done is short amount of time ... that is the beauty of using well designed templates. Love that! 

And I have just one more layout to share today. These photos were taken in poor lighting with my iphone while my (too old to be riding tricycles) kids were goofing off in the department store & zooming up and down the aisles. But the memory was too good to not use the photos just bc they weren't perfect, so I scrapped them anyway. I used an adorable kit by Dani Mogstad to liven up the page and really accent the colors in the Instagram photos.

Memory Keeping Monday

Good morning. Feeling a little slow this Monday as I try to get back into the swing of things. We had such a great weekend with the Grandparents ... good food, crew practice, a soccer game, some shopping, the Appalachian Trail, a gem & fossil show (for the boy's Science class), movie night, and a day trip to our favorite Apple Orchard across the Hudson river. Love weekends like that!

Still need to download all my photos ... I'm sure many will make their way into a scrapbook page very soon.

For now ... I have a few Project Life Layouts with the newest releases from Digital Project Life ... the themed mini kits. There are so, so many mini themed kits releasing today ... that it would be easier to just link you up with the website so you can see all the awesomeness for yourself!

Latest Layouts . . . lots of them!

Just popping in to share the latest layouts (and there are quite a few ... with the kids back in school, I've been busy creating) with the newest product releases this week:

Up first is Designs by Dani's School House Kit. A darling back to school kit with an amazing color palette ... very old school!

I also created this page with The Ardent Sparrow's Sentimentality Journal Cards. Definitely not intended to be a back to school journal card theme, but the quotes and sayings on the cards were fitting for the pictures captured of my kid's after their first day back to school.



The next scrapbook layout I have to share with you is using The Ardent Sparrow's Watercolor Papers and Journal Cards ... every color of the rainbow in this collection, so it goes with everything! I loved how the soft blues, greens and greys complimented my summery, outdoor pictures.

Memory Keeping Monday with Project Life's Heritage Kit

Today, Digital Project Life has the new Heritage Edition on sale in the shop. It is elegant, with a neutral color scheme and simply beautiful ... it is a kit that will absolutely let your photos take center stage, whether true heritage photos, black and whites or even modern color photographs.

I choose to document some of my photos from our August extended family vacation. The island we visited was nothing short of amazing and the history associated with the island was fascinating. I converted most of my photographs to black and white for a timeless look and then added in just a few color photos to give the sense of the beauty of the island (something I did not want to forget when looking back). I am in love with the way this kit complemented my photos without taking away from the beauty of the images.

Friday Layouts

What a week. The first week of school for the kiddos is coming to an end, we are settling into the routine and looking ahead with some new experiences on the horizon ... the after school hours will sure be busy this year! Still trying to figure out how exactly we fit in a few weekly runs, with the kids, into the schedule with school, homework, and after school activities. Hopefully it all works out.

Today I have two pages to share with you. The Ardent Sparrow released a set of templates at the Lily Pad on Wednesday. These layouts are perfect for a clean layout, but can also be used to create a really layered & clustered look as well. So versatile.

Monday Memory Keeping ... back to school!

Hey there! Today is the First Day of School for my kids ... both in Middle School again this year, one in 7th and one in 8th. I think this is the latest First Day of School for  us yet. So ... for me it was "time". For them ... not so much. They are never happy to see their carefree days of summer disappear. I don't blame them.


In September, I am always happy to get back into a routine again. I hope they settle in to their new routine over the course of the week as well. (It usually takes a few days ... but once they get into the swing of things & get to see their friends ... routine becomes the new normal rather quickly.) Can't wait to hear how their day went, later this afternoon!

This morning I have two digital project life style layouts to share with you. This one is about last week and preparation for going back to school ... I documented the little things like getting haircuts, back to school shopping and organization of supplies. I used the new Maggie Holmes Flea Market Mini kit (on sale this week!). It is darling and I can't wait to use it again & again!

Memory Keeping Monday ...

Here in the US, it is Labor Day, which usually marks an end of the summer and a return to school in NY. But this year the kids have a weird back to school schedule and will be home for another week. Today it is thundering, lightening and pouring rain ... my pooches are gathered at my feet, one on each side, waiting for the storm to pass. Since we are just getting back from vacation ... we opted for a quiet weekend at home, aside from Saturday's soccer tournament. It would be nice to go out for a run or a hike, together as a family, but the skies look angry today. I think it will be more of a family movie kinda day, than an outdoor adventure kinda day. And honestly ... that's ok by me!

I have a few layouts with photos of our vacation to share today ... I just joined The Ardent Sparrow's Creative Team. Seriously love Rebecca's beautiful designs! This first kit is so soft with pretty melons and greys ... perfect for that sunset view from the boat photo from our vacation!



This is a layout with Beach Party from Designs by Dani at Jessica Sprague. Such a fun kit perfect for any water themed photos. These were photos taken from the boat while cruising around Lake Ontario.
